Fitting Guide and Wash/Care Instructions for WindWalkers Products
We proudly use only the finest American sheepskin & materials
when ever possible.
Only MACHINE WASHABLE Leathers are used.
Our products are handcrafted in the U.S.A.
• SHEEPSKIN SLIPPERS AND BOOTS
Fitting: Mens sizing is used (women should go down 1 to 2 sizes).
A snug barefoot is fit is best as the fur will pack down
inside & they will stretch up to a full size.
Just wear bare foot when they are new and again after washing.
They will quickly stretch back out!
Washing Machine: Wash on regular cycle in warm or
cold water. For cushioning add dark colored towels or clothes (as
they will lose some color). Or wash by hand.
For taller beaded styles - pin tassles to inside
of shoe to protect them from breaking .
A little Ivory soap, Eucalan Wool Wash or a gentle
PH balance shampoo is recommended.
* DO NOT USE WOOLITE OR A DETERGENT SUCH AS TIDE *
Rinse well. Air dry out of direct sunlight. You may
dry partially with air fluff setting on your dryer to speed up drying
time. A water proofing silicone based spray may be applied (heavily
around bottom of shoes) to give them some water resistance.
In snow country - brush off salt accumulated from
the roads and rinse or wash after your trip.
• ORTHOTIC SPORT SANDALS
Our sandals are made to be worn in any weather, rivers
or the sea !
Fitting: Mens sizing is used (women should go down
2 to 3 sizes)
The top velcro straps will stretch about 1/2”
and are sewn with an extra row of stitching so that they may be
trimed down when needed.
Washing: We recommend washing when new to bleed out
excess dye (see sheepskin washing instructions above).
WASH or RINSE well in fresh water ASAP after
ocean use (salt is drying & hard on leather)
• SANDAL MAINTANENCE
Shoe dyes and leather conditioners may be applied
to revitalize faded or stained sandals and to put back the natural
moisture when the leather gets dried out.
Velcro replacement must be done periodically. *WE
MUST REPLACE THE VELCRO* It is a special military strength
velcro and shoe repair shops don’t have it!
• RESOLING AND REPAIRS OF ALL OUR PRODUCTS
You can have your WindWalkers shoes resoled at your
neighborhood shoe repair shop. Or send them to us for repairs or
resoling ; include a note about what you need (with your phone number)
and we will get back to you with the price.
